Today I am 16 weeks. Woot woot! Time is flying! I have a doctor appointment on Tuesday, and hopefully he will schedule an ultrasound for sometime in the next few weeks, but I doubt he will. He likes to wait till 20-22 weeks for the second trimester ultrasound. I am still undecided on whether or not I want to know the gender of the baby. I think it would be such a neat surprise to wait until the birth, but I know it would be so fun to know now, so that I can buy cute clothes that go on sale, and be able to personalize blankets and the nursery and everything. I know I want to do a Pooh theme, and already have bedding picked out. My good friend Shannon is giving me a crib (and in exchange we are giving her a 27" TV!) and I think she is going to drop it off tomorrow. I FINALLY got the spare bedroom cleaned up, with much thanks to my friend Tabatha because it was a huge task and she didn't complain once! The only thing left to do is donate a bunch of stuff to PCDC, take a few items to Stephen's mom's house, and find SOMEBODY to buy my old entertainment center because it's HUGE and taking up a whole wall in the room. Then we can start painting!
Isn't that adorable? I also think the butterflies on the wall are cute, so I am going to try to copy that!
AND, last but not least, this week's picture!
Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.
I like the Winnie-the Pooh decorations!
