Winner Winner Sonic Dinner!

Christopher helped me draw the winner for the Sonic gift card!

First I wrote down everybody’s name that had commented on my 200th blog post.  (I was seriously surprised at how many people didn’t want to win a Sonic gift card.  Only 5 people commented, and 2 of them were family. I Oh, well, better odds for those who wanted to win!)

Then I cut out the names, folded them up, and put them in a bowl, and let Christopher draw one!

Congrats, Shauna! I’ll get the gift card to you in the next few days.  :)

Stevo’s Surprise Party!

**Don’t forget my Sonic Gift Card Giveaway… just click HERE to leave a comment and be entered to win!**

Stevo turned the big 3-0 on August 9th!!!  His mom and I had been planning a surprise party for him for several weeks, and we pulled it off successfully.  It was SO much fun to plan and it was really hard for me to keep quiet – but he was definitely surprised (more like shocked) and we all had a blast.

We had the party on the day before his birthday, on Sunday the 8th.  His mom had told him that she wanted to grill for his birthday with Gina and Richie, some friends of ours, but when Stephen and I walked in, there were lots of decorations, balloons, and 14 of our closest friends and family yelling “Surprise!” and blowing kazoos. I had SO much fun decorating.  I tried to do a blue and white/silver theme. (Cowboys Colors)  I bought paper streamers that Britney and I put up in the kitchen (I don’t have a good picture of those) and LOTS of ballons, a 30th birthday banner, and plastic blue curly-Q streamers that we hung from the living room ceiling.

We grilled hot dogs and hamburgers and had cupcakes and went swimming – it was a really fun afternoon.  I was so glad when it was over so that I could finally talk to Stephen about all the planning I had done and how hard it had been for me to keep my mouth shut!

These are all the pictures I took, and they’re not the best.  I didn’t really think to take pictures until everybody had left, and I didn’t even get good ones of all my decorations.  :(  Oh well – we had a great time!

Wordless Wednesday - Swimming at Nana’s

Today kicked my booty.  I had decided not to blog today and was about to go to bed when I remembered it’s Wordless Wednesday!  Quick and easy blog post.  :)

Stephen’s mom got a nice above ground pool at the beginning of August, so that’s one of the things we’ve been doing in our down time.  It’s been a lot of fun/relaxing – and I’ve gotten a little bit of color from it instead of being pasty white.  Not blinding people when I step outside is always a plus.

I’ve only taken my camera once, plus I am usually in the pool and less concerned with taking pictures.  This was Christopher’s first time in it.

I’m Baaa-aaack!!! (AND it’s my 200th post. You know what that means!)

The last few weeks have been filled with fun events, birthdays, hot weather, swimming, reality TV, quality time with my family, and R&R.  It’s been hectic, but also fun and relaxing – which is exactly what this mama needed.  :)

I’m going to do several “catch-up” posts instead trying to fit the last month into one long run-on blog.  Even if y’all care nothing about what we’ve been up to – I want to do it for my own memories.

First of all – I’m back!  Stephen and I finally got our new desk assembled and got his desktop all set up on it.  I LOVE it!  I get excited easily, what can I say!?!  Also, I just love new furniture/changing up my living area, etc.  :)  My living room is crowded right now though because the old desk is still in here.  We’re trying to decide if we want to store it or maybe use it somewhere else in the house.

Somehow, we managed to go from this:

Aug 21 2010_0004       Aug 21 2010_0007

to this:Aug 23 2010_0049

It was time consuming (the directions said 2 hours, but it was probably more like 4 or 5 for us, split into two nights.  We are obviously not craftsmen.) but the directions were VERY clear and easy to follow.  It was a Better Homes & Gardens brand desk from Walmart.  Stephen and I would definitely recommend a BH&G piece of furniture if you’re wanting something new & inexpensive.

We also bought a card reader for the desktop, because for some reason it won’t read a memory card over 2GB.  I have an 8GB memory card, so that is why I was not able to put pictures on Stephen’s desktop.  (Although, I guess I could have used a USB cable.  I didn’t think of that.  Oh, well.  Card readers are so much easier!)  So now I can easily transfer all my pictures from my camera over to the desktop.  I also downloaded Windows Live Writer.  This is the program I use to write all my blogs.  It’s so easy to write blogs and include alot of pictures with Windows Live Writer – it’s not as easy as doing it with Picasa or through Blogger.  :)

While I really enjoyed my time alone with C-Monster relaxing and not constantly on the computer/blogging, I did miss the blogging community and I am glad to be back.  I had seriously considered quitting blogging, because I don’t like it when people try to make me feel guilty for not blogging or tell me that I need to update my blog or tell me what to blog or when to blog, but I actually do really enjoy it (it’s a method of journaling for me, letting out my emotions/thoughts, etc.) and I would really miss it if I quit altogether.  :)

Okay.  Now on to the good part, assuming that you’ve not gotten bored with this post already and moved on to something different.

This is my 200th post!  I was going to do a giveaway at 100 posts, but if memory serves me correctly, I was either on bed rest or had just had Christopher around that time, and I just didn’t get around to doing a giveaway.

So – to say Thank You to those of you who keep up with my blog, I’m giving away a….

Dear Blogger,

I miss you.

XOXO,
Steph

...No, seriously, I am having blogging withdrawals!  Stephen and I had planned on buying me a new laptop, since mine is missing an "e" key and the "enter" key, and since it has been acting funny since Stevo reformatted it - so I was just going to wait until I could get my own "setup" to start blogging again.  But, we decided instead of spending 400 to 600 bucks on a new laptop, that I should just use his desktop and save the moo-la. :)  I'm fine with that, except right now his computer is on a roll top desk, and the computer screen sits much higher than eye level and I have to look up at it, so I get a crick in my neck when I sit at it for very long.  It's just not comfortable.  Since ALL of my classes this semester are online or partial online, we decided to buy an actual computer desk, and we're in the process of putting it all together right now.  (It's one of those do-it-yourself things from Wally World, but it's actually very nice and fairly easy to put together.)

Once we get the desk together and move everything around (we're also moving some furniture because we're going to put the new desk in a different spot than the old roll top) I'll get my own account set up on the desktop, download Windows Live Writer, hook up my latest pictures, and become a blogging fool again.  :)

I hear a C-Monster waking up!

Christopher is ONE YEAR OLD!

I have so, so, sooooo much to catch up on. I've had a VERY busy weekend and week and I still have a non-working laptop, so no pics with this blog. (again. sorry, peeps.)

Today is my little man's first birthday.  I can't BELIEVE that he is a year old!  The last year has absolutely flown by, and I know the next year will too.  :(  It's been the best year of my life!  Christopher is such a joy and I cannot imagine my life without him.  I am so blessed to be his mommy!

Christopher celebrated his first birthday with his uncle Jim and aunt Cristin this past weekend, and today we celebrated with my family & Stephen's mom. We had a GREAT time and Christopher got a LOT of new toys and clothes! My mom and Deanna have all the pictures, so I'll have to wait to steal their pics and I PROMISE to have a new post up before I start fall semester. (In one week. Boo hiss.) As for now - it's 8:18 and I am exhausted.  I asked Stephen if he was ready for bed at 8 and he laughed at me, but I wasn't joking.  A much more detailed blog will come soon - but I'm afraid I'm not coherent enough tonight to even begin to describe the great celebrations we've had!

Good night.  :)

P.S. Giveaway is coming SOON!  Stay tuned.

an update! (for now.)

Hi, all.

Sorry it's been so long since my last post.  I was really, really busy at the end of my summer semester, (but I got an "A" in both my classes - yaaay!) then my computer got a virus and quit working, then our internet went down at the house for a few days... then it magically started working again.  Seriously don't know what happened to it!  My wonderful hubby was able to save all of my videos and pictures off of my laptop (because I'm STUPID and didn't have them backed up.  anwhere. period.) and get it going again, but it's still giving me fits, so I haven't done much of anything on it recently!  Plus, I know that I am going to be sick of it by the time I'm done with my fall semester -- I'm taking 18 hours and they are ALL either fully online or partial online classes.  So my eyes are gonna be glued to a computer screen for the next few months.  Ehh.

Christopher will be ONE YEAR OLD one week from today.  He's quite a little handful, but I am soooo enjoying my time at home with him now that I have a break from school!  To be quite honest, I haven't really been in the mood to sit down and take time out of my day with him to blog.  During his naps I am taking a shower, getting ready for the day, eating/preparing lunch or dinner, etc, and by the time he lays down for bed, I just want to pick up the mess from the day and lay on the couch and catch up on DVR'd shows.

I'm posting from Stephen's computer right now and I don't have any pictures on it, nor do I have Windows Live Writer installed on it, so there are no pictures that will accompany this post.  However, I think I have a new video that I uploaded to YouTube before my laptop crashed, so I'll see if I can get it on here.  Stephen and I have plans to purchase a new laptop for me, but it will probably be later in the month or early September before we do so -- so I probably won't be doing a lot of blogging until then, but I'm SURE I will catch up this fall when I am procrastinating homework have the time. :)
